Before we get started, please make sure you have registered an individual account at ebay.com. Notice that eBay only accept Credit Card and PayPal, as they do not support Debit Card. You have to fill in the requirements needed in order to sync your webShaper store with eBay, by clicking at this link here. Don’t forget to send back the supported document back to your sales lead or email us at support@webshaper.com.

Let’s get started!

This option will allow you to sell your products through your webStore and eBay marketplace! Please follow the step by step instructions. This feature is only available for webShaper bizStore users, who are also eBay sellers.

Important Tips

Step 1: Manage eBay Account Settings

1. Login to your webShaper control panel. Go to Marketing  > Marketplace. Click on the eBay tab and choose Manage Settings. Please fill the all the information.

2. Choose Your eBay Site: Please choose the eBay site you signed up for, such as ebay.com (US). Then click Log in with eBay. After that you will be redirected to your eBay account to link your account to webShaper. Click Agree to grant application access to webShaper.

3. User Name and User Tokens are the information retrieved automatically in the earlier steps after you successfully login with eBay.

4. Currency Exchange Rate to eBay Currency: Used to convert the webShaper currency to the eBay site currency (Eg: USD).

5. Difference in Price: It indicates the price you can add to your items. The number added can be a positive or negative integer. This configuration applies to ALL the products you sync to eBay. For example, if your original product price is selling at (10), and you place a (5) in this field, your item value will be (15) = (10 + 5) before the conversion of Currency Exchange Rate to eBay Currency take place, in order to sync to eBay.

7. Price Mode: Can either be set to Percentage (%) or Flat Price.

8. Save the settings with “Enable eBay”.

 

 

Step 2: Set eBay Extra Required Options Configuration

1. Click Extra Required Options.

2. Set up your General OptionsOptions stored will be applied to all items you want to push to eBay. In order to give a different configuration to a specific product, please change the items option in eBay sync page.

*Note: The steps shown below are example from ebay.com (US). The shipping option will work depends on the website you signed up for. Let say eBay.com (US), then your shipping option will automatically set for eBay US currency, which is USD.

 

i. Country: The country where the products will be shipped from.

ii. Location: The city where the products will be shipped from.

 

 

3. Set up your Shipping Options.

i. International Shipping:

  • Tick “Yes” if the you want to ship the products worldwide except USA.
  • Tick “No” if you want to ship the products within USA.

ii. Shipping Service to USA: Courier service for shipping to USA. For Express DHL, please select “Expedited International Shipping from outside the USA”.

  • Shipping Cost per Item (USD): Shipping cost per item in USD.
  • Cost For Each Additional Item: Cost you want to add if customer purchase any additional item.

iii. International Shipping Service (Worldwide except USA): To choose DHL Express, please select “Expedited International Shipping”.

  • Shipping Cost per Item (USD): Shipping cost per item in USD.
  • Cost For Each Additional Item: Cost you want to add if customer purchase any additional item.

iv. Add Custom International Shipping Services and Fees: International shipping service for custom regions and countries. For DHL, please select Expedited International Shipping.

  • Shipping Location: Location to ship your item, such as Japan or Europe.
  • Shipping Cost per Item (USD): Shipping cost per item in USD.
  • Cost For Each Additional Item: Cost you want to add if customer purchase any additional item.

v. Exclude Ship To Location: Select the regions where you will not ship your products.

 

 

4. Item Policies:

i. Returns Accepted: Buyer can return an item for any reason.

  • Refund: You can choose either Money Back, Exchange or Merchandise Credit.
  • Returns Within: Time taken to return item, from 3 Days to 60 Days.
  • Shipping Cost Paid By: Shipping return cost paid by Buyer or Seller.
  • Restocking Fee Value: An amount of money charged by a merchant for accepting returned goods.
  • Return/Exchange Detail: Details from merchant to buyer.

ii. No Returns Accepted: Buyer cannot return an item for any reason.

5. Payment Options: Select your payment option.

  • Choose your payment method: Example; PayPal.
  • Payment Account: Insert payment account email.

6. Click Save.

 

 

Step 3: Mapping your webShaper categories to eBay categories

1. Go to Marketing > Marketplace.

2. Under the eBay tab on the left hand side, select Category Mapping.

3. Go to Category Mapping section, and click on “Update eBay Categories”. This will fetch all eBay’s latest categories. Please redo the mapping from webShaper categories to eBay’s categories (for those unmapped categories).

4. Click on the Grey colored eBay Icon, a window will appear prompting you to choose the eBay categories.

 

 

5. Select the eBay Category that most related to your webShaper store category (Choose the categories until you reach the end of the category selections).

6. After mapping, click on Save. If successful, a Category Saved message will appear and the Colored eBay Icon will show.

 

 

Step 4: Syncing Your Product Items

This step will allow you to sync your products with webShaper to eBay. We empowered you to choose which products you want to Sync over!

1. Go to Marketing > Marketplace.

2. Under the eBay tab select Sync Product Items.

3. Click on the Add button, this will prompt a window with the following options:

i. Custom: Allows you to search for the product using the Item Name or SKU.

ii. All Products: Pushes all products in webShaper store to eBay.

iii. Products in mapped Categories: Automatically adds the items in the categories that you have mapped (Recommended).

 

 

4. The screen consists of 6 columns:

i. Product Item Name:  The name of your product.

ii. SKU: Unique product ID (SKU is known as Stock Keeping Unit)

iii. Last Synced: Shows the date and time of the last successful sync.

iv. Mapped to: Shows where this product’s category is mapped to eBay category.

v. Status: 100% means successful sync. If any errors, click on the status icon for error messages.

vi. Options: This is where you can select:

  • Customize Name / Description: You can put different product name and description for eBay.
  • Options: You can configure different product option such as general & shipping options, item policies and payment option.
  • Price: You can configure different pricing for eBay on the Product or SKU level.
    *Note: You cannot change the Original Price and Original Discount from here. The Marketplace Price, Marketplace Discount, and Marketplace Listed Price will only happen after the conversion on eBay. The conversion from the manage settings page is based on the exchanged rate. You have the ability to give this item and its sub-products different pricing. To apply special pricing and discount, please click on the price or discount to change it.
    a. Original Price (Before Currency Conversion): The original price from your webShaper store.
    b. Original Discount (Before Currency Conversion): The original discount set from your webShaper store.
    c. Marketplace Price (After Currency Conversion): Original price + price setting in eBay’s manage settings.
    As example, your product original price inside your webShaper store is (10). And you set the currency exchange rate to eBay currency is (0.5) and difference in price is (5).
    So, Original Price (10) + Difference in Price (5)  = (15)
    Then, [(15) * Currency Exchange Rate to eBay Currency (0.5)] = (7.5) which is the Marketplace Price.
    d. Marketplace Discount (After Currency Conversion): To apply different discount than the original webShaper discount. You can insert Flat or Percentage (%) value.
    e. Marketplace Listed Price (After Currency Conversion): (Marketplace Price ) – (Marketplace Discount). This is the final price that will be push over to eBay.
  • Select Images: You can set different Product Images to Sync. Click Upload Images to upload new product images.
  • Product Spec: Certain eBay categories will requires different product specification. webShaper will detect automatically and let you fill in the necessary column required. Some of the field in here, you can choose either from the suggestion given or write your own value. And some of them you can only choose from the drop down list such as Country. Please make sure to fill in all important fields. Click Save.
  • Variations: If you have sub-products, you will need to do the variations mapping in order to push products to eBay. You can only choose 5 variations at most from all the specification given. The example below shows variation specification in the Fashion category. Let say you have a product that has two options which are sizes (S and M) and colors (Black and Red). The mandatory attribute for this specification are “Size Type” and “Size (Women’s)”. So, you have to fill it according to the sub-product specification. For “Size Type” attribute, you need to make sure that the value of attributes are the same for each sub-product. For “Size (Women’s)” and “Color” attributes, make sure that you fill in the correct value. And for the rest of the attributes also, if you want to fill them in, make sure that you put the same value for each sub-product.

Check eBay Orders in webShaper Control Panel

Once an order is received from eBay, the order will be stated as Processed, and stocks will be deducted from webShaper and gets updated in eBay too.  Once the order is being processed, you can proceed to make shipping changes from the webShaper control panel.

1. Go to Orders > View Orders.

2. Select the order that you would like to update and click on View.

3. Orders with the status Processed (indicate that a payment has been made), will have an additional Marketplace tab when viewed.

4. Click on the tab, you can choose to update the eBay Order Status:

  • From Pending to Ready To Ship
  • From Ready To Ship to Shipped

Check webShaper’s eBay Sync Log

The logs hold a list of your pushed products, pushed images and inventory. You can keep an eye on all the details from product SKU, upload time and actions to error messages.

1. Go to Marketing and click on Marketplace.

2. Under the eBay tab select eBay’s Logs.

3. Select the log you wish to view, and a prompt window will appear providing you will with all the information.

 

Important Tips

1. After you sync your products, keep an eye for any error messages (Red Flag or ! ) in the status column. The message tell a certain error that stop the product from syncing properly. Clicking on the message will show you how to fix the error.

2. A red flag means something has gone wrong during the Sync. Click on it to see the error message from eBay such as no long description. Resolve it by click Clear, and try to fix it yourself . If you cannot solve the error, please contact our friendly customer service at support@webshaper.com.

3. It takes an interval of 5 minutes for a product to be pushed (First time added only).

4. Subsequent changes to product information, you will have to select the product, click on re-sync to be manually pushed over.
